Markelle Fultz Appears To Be Very Much NOT Broken
That last tweet right there says it all. Chalk this up to stuff you absolutely love to see whether you’re a Magic fan or not. We saw some flashes in the Magic’s first preseason game against the Spurs, so to see Markelle Fultz back that performance up with another solid showing tonight is pretty damn awesome. You’re seeing some of the skills that made him the consensus #1 pick two years ago, and you’re lying if you say you didn’t want him on your team coming out of Washington. We all did. That’s what makes his story so bizarre and probably one of the strangest turn of events in recent NBA history. Who just forgets how to shoot? Well I’ve seen enough this preseason to think those troubles are a thing of the past and we’re in line to get the Markelle Fultz that dominated in college. I know it’s early, I know it’s preseason, but when you’re a guy who basically went into hiding for two seasons and then finally show signs of progress you can’t ignore that. His form may not be perfect, but he’s looking like a real NBA talent which is certainly a step in the right direction.
If Fultz really is for real, the Magic are so damn intriguing. They’re long as hell, they are loaded with super athletic young talent, they have shooting with Terrance Ross and Evan Fournier, there are real pieces there. Not to mention they had one of the best defenses over the second half of the year in the entire NBA and if everything breaks for them why couldn’t they compete for the 5-6 seed? You add a fully healthy and confident Markelle Fultz to that mix and now you’re really cooking with gas.
